There Will be Dragons...
11/23/2019
Coming out the other side of a rather time consuming house project (we completely remodeled our bathroom... and it's fantastic now, but it was, quite frankly, amazing how it threw the entire household into chaos), and I'm finally feeling like things are getting back to normal. I'm feeling more energized again, and ready to take on some artistic projects. A friend sent a link to some smoke bombs that looked absolutely incredible (and were much, much less so in real life, but we made them work, anyway), so we went out to the black volcanic rocks on the edge of town and found a dragon cave to shoot in. I took a wide angle lens that worked out really well for capturing the details of the background and using them to draw the eye inward in a subtle way, to the definitely not subtle color palette that the dragons and smoke brought. It was fun and quick, and made me realize just how much my soul is craving creativity right now. I've been tossing around ideas for the new year, ranging from committing to a schedule for posting here and on emmaecho, to the possibility of a new photo-a-day for the new year, to some new ideas for costumes for couture shoots, AND finally finishing up the Project Insectae video for release in the new year, since some really cool opportunities for that have recently been brought to my attention, so finishing that is my main goal for the rest of 2019. I'm feeling motivated to be more productive and organized in all facets of my life, and the momentum right now is so great, I'm seriously considering starting everything up for December this year. But, I'll give myself some time to relax, work on catching up around the house and giving myself the best start I can for a beautiful, productive new year full of new creations!
Much love, Emma
