boy with a cape, sand bucket and shovel, Minnie Mouse bag with transformer action figure, and blow up beach ball
Day Two Hundred Seventy Six Never know when a cape, sand bucket and shovel, Minnie Mouse bag with transformer action figure, and blow up beach ball will come in handy...
Balloon Fiesta aerial view of park
Day Two Hundred Seventy Seven First Balloon Fiesta Ever!!! The view is great ;)
boy carries dog
Day Two Hundred Seventy Eight Despite the look on her face, Koni Chihua will allow for being carried all over the back yard in this fashion. I think she secretly likes it.
Desert Kaleidoscope International Balloon Fiesta 2016- Special Shapes
Day Two Hundred Seventy Nine Thursday, Oct. 6th: Crewing again for SkyDyes at Desert Kaleidoscope - Special Shapes morning
tie dyed hot air balloon Gloria of Sky Dyes
Day Two Hundred Eighty Fri, Oct. 7th: Took the whole family out for crewing this am: the beautiful Gloria :)
glasses set on table at wedding
Day Two Hundred Eighty One Sandwiched in between hours of rain on both sides, the ceremony this afternoon went off without a hitch (except that the bride and groom ARE hitched, now ;) ) Nice event, out in the North Valley (ironically close to the Balloon Fiesta park). Off to enjoy some tea and homemade zucchini bread while I get back into the editing.
fennel bulb selfie
Day Two Hundred Eighty Two Got a giant fennel bulb in my CSA delivery this week. Initially, I didn't have any ideas on how to use it, but luckily got the bright idea to wear it as a hat and take old-fashioned, eroded photos.
ladder inside yoga studio
Day Two Hundred Eighty Three Mixed feelings in this new space, the space formerly known as Blue... The light was spectacular, though.
spider spinning its web
Day Two Hundred Eighty Four Spinning the Sky This spider was spinning its web in the evening sunlight, just outside my side gate. The web glistened against the sky. We watched her work for quite some time.
Rainbow and Powerlines
Day Two Hundred Eighty Five Urban Landscapes - Rainbow and Powerlines
Little Guys and Mighty Machines
Day Two Hundred Eighty Six Little Guys and Mighty Machines

Day Two Hundred Eighty Seven Edible Jewels
lens with pomegranate juice drops
Day Two Hundred Eighty Eight This is what happens when you take close-ups of a three-year-old eating a pomegranate. Oh well, lens needed cleaning anyway.

Day Two Hundred Eighty Nine Trimming the Tree

Day Two Hundred Ninety First Persimmon, Full Moon Night

Day Two Hundred Ninety One Balloon Atoms and Dancing Ghosts
red helium balloon
Day Two Hundred Ninety Two Slow photo day, when you're taking pictures of the helium balloon floating around the house at equilibrium, then using the 'plastic-wrap' filter on said balloon photos...
palm frond in sunlight
Day Two Hundred Ninety Three Even the most mundane scenes can be transformed by the quality of light...
ornate security bars and brick building
Day Two Hundred Ninety Four Yet another example of how beautiful light transforms an otherwise average locale...
crayfish exoskeleton on side of glass bowl
Day Two Hundred Ninety Five Our crayfish, Gumbo, molted, so we got to talk about exoskeletons. On a completely unrelated topic, my son asked me "What are you going to do today, Mama? Take over the world?" Maybe tomorrow, son, maybe tomorrow.
black and white layers of leaves and sky
Day Two Hundred Ninety Six The leaves are changing, so many beautiful hues all around... Time for some golden cottonwood fun in the bosque! These layers upon layers of leaves on my trumpet vine in the most delicate shade of yellow were lit up in the most magical way. Oddly enough, I liked the shot better in black and white. Some days are just like that.
huge vine dress
Day Two Hundred Ninety Seven We have this vine growing in the back corner of our yard. It is very happy there. So happy that it is encroaching on the three bordering yards, so I chopped all the rogue bits back. I was left with a huge pile of tangled vine. I'd been wanting to do one of those 'huge dress' shots, so I went in and grabbed the ladder and covered it in vines, and viola! A huge vine dress.

Day Two Hundred Ninety Nine Sweet Ride

Day Three Hundred "It's a squaretangle!"
car with construction lights, backhoe and bulldozer attachments
Day Three Hundred One My next car...
t-rex in masquerade mask
Day Three Hundred Two Fright Night at the Museum!
trump mask and black cat costume
Day Three Hundred Three Trump made an unexpected visit to my nephew's birthday party - a day before his expected arrival at the Abq rally! He kept grabbing his, um, cat.
Dia de Los Muertos barber shop mural and offering
Day Three Hundred Four After visiting a Dia de Los Muertos art show, we were walking back to the car and rounded the corner to this fantastic offering, complete with barbershop-color candles, Red Man chew, cornmeal, collared greens, and black-eyed peas.
boy dressed up as a
Day Three Hundred Five Rather than go trick-or-treating (no complaints here!), the boys opted to dress up as "bad fairies" (who apparently also have hands as feet...), and make their own Halloween goodies: ice cream in a bag and chocolate mice, and then topped off the festivities with dry ice ghost bubbles :)
