Day One Hundred Ninety Two We went to the local farmer's market at a park near our house and had a picnic lunch in the grass - fresh baked bread and empanadas, sunflower micro-greens, and horchata.

Day One Hundred Ninety Three I was out watering the mint and the sunset was bouncing off of the neighbor's window, making this mini-spotlight on the wall. I stepped into it and decided to take advantage of the situation and take some shadow photos. A minute later, the light was gone.

Day Two Hundred I'm often drawn to textural photos, so when it started raining and the drops were accumulating on some waterproof dog beds out in the back yard, I couldn't help but take some photos.
blacklight painting in White Sands
Day Two Hundred One I had the opportunity to camp out in White Sands for the full moon. It was amazingly beautiful. We had a black light flashlight (to see all the scorpions... we saw none), and it turned out to be a fun tool for light painting under the full moon on the snow-white gypsum dunes...

Day Two Hundred Two Waking up to this is the stuff of wildest dreams. I exited our tent just before the sun rose over the horizon and wandered the dunes hunting shadows.

Day Two Hundred Four Impractical Selfie Had this discussion today about 'impractical selfies'. Not sure how selfies would be 'practical' anyway, but here's this one: Selfie inside pallet clubhouse with framed butterflies :D Haha

Day Two Hundred Eight The chuparosas are having a war over the trumpet vine in the backyard. I observed their sneaky tactics and aerial battles for quite a while, and took photos of them in the twilight.

sunflower macro
Day Two Hundred Thirteen This sunflower is so resilient - early on, it got crushed over onto it's side, but the half of the stem still intact was enough to keep it alive, so it grew along the ground and then upwards towards the sun, in an 'L' shape, and then today, the bud finally opened into a beautiful new sunflower.
