Get Back Up Again...

6/15/2020
I've been posting pretty things lately. Seemingly inconsequential things. Things I've found around my home and yard, as that is where I am.

I find the beauty around me, even when it is hard to find. It is a blessing, though some days, also a curse. These images, while uplifting to me personally, don't reflect the dark mood I am in, have been in. I recognize the importance of the dichotomy of being able to still appreciate beauty while educating myself about some of the most ugly aspects of human history, and present day. My heart and head are full, and sadness is an everyday emotion, present with a multitude of others. Gratitude. Anger. Frustration. LOVE. As I see progress being made, within society, within myself, yet another wave of injustice or narrow-mindedness washes over me and pushes me down again. I come up for air, still hopeful, but I know not when it will end. There is no end in sight. It is with a heavy heart that I lift myself up from the wreckage.

I lift myself up with the hopes that I can lift up others, as well.
