Experiments in Art and Wonder...

12/9/2015
beautiful desert plant in autumn/winter glory
This week has been a whirlwind of adventure and creativity. The child and I set out on a journey to find new favorite hiking and photography spots. The above photo is one from our excursions - a delicate, beautiful desert plant, the last of its tiny leaves just turning and falling.

I felt incredibly fortunate to have been asked to tell the story of the Glass Gem corn, the crop grown this year at Mer-Girl Gardens, an organic seed farm in La Villita, NM. I love the place, it is beautiful (I hope to stay at their Airbnb property this summer: www.airbnb.com/rooms/2865335). I worked with Ron and Debora to tell the story of the Glass Gem in an article that will be published in the upcoming edition of Heirloom Gardener and I KNOW I'll be adding to my garden next season from their magical selection of seeds :)

The child always inspires within me a sense of wonder (and, some days, shows me how far my patience will take me...). He is an amazing little being. We were making applesauce, and this magical little 'apple owl' showed up to say hello! It's been that kind of week :D

beautiful pendants with cup of tea - tea bag tag reads 'flower power'
I also tried my hand at making some magical pendants and earrings, and was very pleased at the results. My Drishti pendants (and earrings) encourage the wearer to feel powerful and peaceful, confident and centered. They are created from my digital artwork I made from my photos. Most will be gifts. Some will be available soon, through my online shop.

Love and Wonder abound!
