 Day Three Hundred Six Playing at the park and this one tree was perfectly illuminated by a natural spotlight - a break in the clouds, only for a moment.  Day Three Hundred Seven Bosque del Apache  Day Three Hundred Eight I found a beautiful sunbeam today, and a peacock feather was lying nearby, so...  Day Three Hundred Nine The Natural History museum had a special event tonight - the StartUp Sendoff (the StartUp Computer Revolution exhibit is going away); next to the Fractal Foundation booth I was working, this man from Intel was set up giving candy away. You had to use the robotic arm to pick up the candy. One of the ladies was trying to give her candy to the Intel guy.  Day Three Hundred Ten The persimmon tree is turning these beautiful shades of red and deep orange, almost otherworldly-looking with its red leaves and orange fruit. I love it! The beauty of nature is incredible.  Day Three Hundred Eleven One of my favorite gatherings in the area - the Dia de los Muertos Marigold parade down in the South Valley. So much fun to dress up and honor ancestors and celebrate together. I loved these milk jug skeletons these guys built :)  Day Three Hundred Twelve I was messing around with this big crystal (the kind you hang in the window to cast rainbows all over the room), using it to shoot light patterns onto things to photograph. I found that it fit perfectly into my macro lens and gave this ghostly, multiple-exposure effect. Can't wait to try out some more multi-faceted portraits  Day Three Hundred Thirteen Off to the bosque today to shoot some awesome (and hilarious) humanoid/insect chrysalis transformation scenes in the golden cottonwoods.  Day Three Hundred Fourteen More multiple-exposure-looking portraits with the crystal. It is definitely harder the more your subject moves around...  Day Three Hundred Fifteen Working on the house...  Day Three Hundred Sixteen Working on the house: Part II - cleaning the furnace  Day Three Hundred Seventeen At the Handsome Family album release party - Sat, Nov. 12th  Day Three Hundred Eighteen Downtown ABQ at night; not creepy, not not creepy...  Day Three Hundred Nineteen I went out to get some pics of the supermoon, but I guess I missed the "super" rise, so it looked, well, just like the moon (and I love the moon, but I have lots and lots of pictures of the full moon, and they just all start looking the same...). The plants were casting shadows on the curtains, so I crept around outside my house taking photos of the windows.  Day Three Hundred Twenty My 'classroom' for the day was the fabulous Ilfeld Auditorium in Las Vegas. I had several hours in between my presentations, so I went out and explored the town a bit, mostly in the dark.  Day Three Hundred Twenty One / Day Three Hundred Twenty Two (below) I didn't take any photos today or yesterday - the second and third days this year that I didn't. I did, however, get caught up on some personal editing projects, so yay for small successes? Here you go, a couple photos that I edited from outings this summer - one in Cloudcroft, one at Meow Wolf (below).   Day Three Hundred Twenty Three Up in Taos today teaching classes at the high school. Stopped by to visit the river on my way home.  Day Three Hundred Twenty Four It's been a loooong week. It's about all the energy I can muster to take a stupid selfie for my photo of the day. I wish my hair looked more like Encino man's, but I guess it captures my remaining enthusiasm for the evening. Off to tea tomorrow!  Day Three Hundred Twenty Five Trimming the rose bush and harvesting the rose hips this afternoon.  Day Three Hundred Twenty Six Onward! Day Three Hundred Twenty Nine Boys bouncing balls down the stairs  Day Three Hundred Thirty  Day Three Hundred Thirty One Drying leaves on the Bodhi tree  Day Three Hundred Thirty Two We went ice skating at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center for my sister's birthday. These figures were hanging on the inside walk.  Day Three Hundred Thirty Three Creepy Elephant  Day Three Hundred Thirty Four Driving back from Cuba today; had to stop several times to try and capture the landscape. So beautiful. The light was incredible. It snowed all night there, so the hills closest to Cuba were snow covered and shining bright white in the setting sun. As I came closer to San Ysidro, the snow was gone, but the colors of the layers of earth were vibrant.  Day Three Hundred Thirty Five Not too many pics from today. I saw this pretty tree with red berries that was nicely lit up in the evening sun, so I took a photo of it. The red berries stood out against the blue sky. In messing around with it, I decided I liked the sky a red color as well, and then made it into a kaleidoscope image. I liked the finished product more than the initial photo, so here it is
