A few months ago, I took a trip to help a family member move. For various reasons, it was best to leave my son home with his papa while I went. It was the longest I'd ever been away from my son. I wanted to get him a little gift from the trip, but all of the little knickknacks I'd seen in shops along the way seemed lacking in some way. This little pink camera was being given away - it and many other things that were unwanted or couldn't fit into the cars to be moved were being left out on the upstairs balcony for other people in the complex, so I took the camera.
It worked out perfectly. My son loves it, and so do all the kids that come by to play. They all like to use it to take photos or videos, and I love to encourage them to be creative (and not have to worry about my camera getting dropped or little fingerprints all over the lenses). Below are some of the images taken over the past few months by the kids (and myself - the first one below is mine. Even I like to play with the little pink camera - it's fun!). I love to see the images from the perspective of a child; to see what they feel is important enough to take a photo of.

![]() Day One Hundred Sixty One Trumpet Vine Fairy All the blooms on the trumpet vine encouraged me to add to the fairy fauxtography series today. I took a whole bunch of shots of the plant from different angles with a macro lens, then used them to create the costume for the woman in the photo. Photo collage :) ![]() Day One Hundred Thirty Six Completed the teepee today. The kid and I have been working on it for the past couple days. It's great! The poles are from a wedding canopy and the (turquoise!) sheets were given to us yesterday by neighbors cleaning out their garage. Can't say no to free fabric, and it worked out just great for this. The best part was when the kid says, "Ma, I like our pee-pee." Haha :) We planted purple hyacinth beans around the poles and made geometric designs with yarn for the beans to climb. ![]() Day One Hundred Thirty Eight Had a minor panic attack today when I couldn't find the kid anywhere in the house. I'd thought he'd fallen asleep in his bed for a nap, and when I looked in to check, he wasn't there. I frantically searched all the beds in the house, and he wasn't in any of them. Finally, I saw his little toes sticking out from underneath the cabinet by the front door... |
