I've felt massive upheaval in my life especially within the past year! With the lunar eclipse last night, I too feel that change is coming, and I am clearing out the things negative and unneeded in my life, welcoming the positive, and accepting what I have to play with right now :)
The beginning - you can see the shadow playing against the edge of the moon on the left side... 11:55 pm (April 14th)
Full eclipse! Taken 1:38 am
Re-emerging - rebirth for all of us; a chance to bring positive change, reaffirm our beautiful existence :) 2:23 am
"However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?"
"The coming and going of the seasons give us more than the springtimes, summers, autumns, and winters of our lives. It reflects the coming and going of the circumstances of our lives like the glassy surface of a pond that shows our faces radiant with joy or contorted with pain."
"Good news is rare these days, and every glittering ounce of it should be cherished and hoarded and worshipped and fondled like a priceless diamond."
-Hunter S. Thompson
“The little pig began to pray
But Wolfie blew his house away.
He shouted, "Bacon, Pork, and Ham!
Oh what a lucky wolf I am!"
And though he ate the pig quite fast,
He carefully kept the tail till last.”
― Roald Dahl
“A steampunk nation
Baby pollution rises up then the loving comes arraigning 'cause
Our art's official and only partially artificial
And our heart's in the middle of sharp hardened shards of metal but
There's not where it settles
Because it's beating to the steaming of God's hottest pot or kettle
And now we face it, this creation we made to
To save our craving for a synthetic rebelnation it's
Our safeway they make into a pathetic revelation
In our steampunk nation
Our steampunk nation”
― Criss Jami
Day 358: Infinite Scales
I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.
e. e. cummings
Day 359: Broken Saucers
"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
"The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!"
-Henry Ward Beecher
"Better to illuminate than merely to shine, to deliver to others contemplated truths than merely to contemplate."
Day 362: That which was once owned...
"When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home."
“There are no unsacred places; there are only sacred places and desecrated places.”
― Wendell Berry
Day 364: For the Bees
“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don't they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.”
― Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine
Day 365: THE END - and the beginning...
Regarding my photo project of the last year (well, a little over a year!):
"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space."
Here's to building new things!
